"An entertaining reading experience"
He knew he needed help or he would die, so half-breed David
Walker forces himself to reach Hannah, his friend from the
orphanage. In spite of the wound, David survives the
arduous trek to Purgatory, Texas where he knows the
schoolteacher will nurse him back to health. Hannah cannot believe the boy who kept her safe and
provided solace to her as a little frightened child, now
seems more Indian than white. David seems to have vanished
replaced by Spirit Walker. However, to Hannah a rose is a
rose especially when that flower is David or as he calls
himself now Spirit Walker. Hannah knows she loves him and
has always ever since he soothed her years ago. She
willingly risks her life when his deadly enemy comes to
town to finish the job. The road to Purgatory, Texas means entertaining reading for
fans of western romances so with Heidi Betts returning
there with HANNAH'S HALF-BREED, fans knows this novel will
be just fine. The lead couple is a delightful duo sharing
in common love and a willingness to give up everything for
their beloved. The arrival of the Purgatory horde (see the
other alliteration novels - CALLIE'S CONVICT and WALKER'S
WIDOW) will please fans of the author and help entice
readers to seek other books like this one. Harriet Klausner

| SUMMARY |
|
IN NEED OF A MIRACLE The road to Hell might be paved with good intentions, but
David Walker knew the trail to Purgatory, Texas, was lined
with nothing but trouble. Wounded and in desperate need of
help, he had survived the treacherous journey to reach the
blue-eyed, blond-haired girl of his memories. And in
Hannah's arms he discovered Heaven. But torn between the
white man's world and his Indian heritage, David wondered
if he'd been saved or damned. HE FOUND AN ANGEL The man who called himself Spirit Walker bore little
resemblance to the boy who had comforted Hannah during her
darkest hours at the orphanage. There was nothing safe
about the powerful half-breed who needed her assistance.
Still, the schoolteacher would risk everything--her
reputation, her heart, her life--to save him, for she
recognized a childhood bond had blossomed into a love
strong enough to overcome any challenge.
