"A gentle romance with a touch of paranormal suspense"
Cindi Lynn's parents divorced when she was just a child and
Cindi hasn't heard from her father since the divorce. He
now lives in Magnolia House in North-western Louisiana with
his Colombian mistress. Following the death of her mother,
Cindi receives word that her father has gone missing in
South America. Then her father's mistress, Consuelo Flowers
tells Cindi she is going to look for him and asks her to
look after Magnolia House. Cindi accepts hoping to escape
her grief and reconnect with Jim Lynn but when she arrives
she finds that the house is far from empty. Ghosts, a
mysterious big cat, an ex-fiancé, a Colombian woman who
claims she worked for Jim Lynn and a caretaker who is far
too attractive for Cindi's peace of mind are all vying for
her attention. Then Consuelo Flowers body is discovered. Magnolia House is a gentle romance with a touch of
paranormal suspense. One of the most refreshing aspects of
this book for me was Dell Comeaux. An artist who practices
martial arts, prefers bare feet and likes to cook he is
certainly not a typical romance novel hero. Since Cyndi
Lynn is very much his opposite in character Dell is just
what she needs to help her to loosen up a little and start
to enjoy life again. It is also worth noting that Cindi is
older than Dell as this is not to the taste of some
readers. Although I liked the book I found that I had
problems identifying with the hero and heroine since both
were in their early twenties and younger than myself. Barbara Small for PNR Reviews and Book Isle Paperbacks
