"Can a young prince overcome the horrors of the past to find love"
Some words to describe eighteen-year old Conar McGregor,
Prince of the Wind, could be arrogant, over confident,
spoiled, petulant, snotty, at least at first glance.
Romance readers will immediately realize however that such
brash behavior often hides some deep seated insecurities.
The tip off is that so many of his friends and subjects
greatly love the handsome
young prince an indication of the intrinsic good inside of
him. Conar's enigmatic behavior stems from the fact that the
young man has been promised from birth to a woman he has no
desire to wed, the Princess Anya Elizabeth of Oceania,
reported to be so ugly that her own parents could not bear
to look upon her. Add to that he has just met the woman who
will own his soul, known to him only as Liza who is brave
and stunningly beautiful. Vying for his body and soul is
the evil sorcerer, Kaileel Tohre, a Cardinal of the
Domination,
the subject of Conar's nightmares. The Brotherhood of the Domination is the force of evil, a
perverted religious sect composed of male priests. Fostered
to the Wind Temple at the age of six, Conar had been one of
the Chosen, a boy selected to be an initiate of the sect,
subject to their perverted pleasures. He had escaped, when
at the age of thirteen, despair had driven him to
attempt
suicide. He had been sent home without being initiated. The tale begins when Conar is beset by a trio of thieves in
a stable. He is skilled and is confident of his ability to
overcome them, until a fourth becomes involved and his
life is saved by another hidden in the in the rafters. The
fellow turns out to be a young woman of perhaps sixteen
years. She is lovely and drives him to forsake the vow
of
celibacy that is a condition of his marriage contract with
the Oceanan princess. Conar is new to celibacy as
witnessed by his numerous love children and he feels little
loyalty to his betrothed whom he refers too as the toad.
More
than that is the fact that Conar has recognized the girl,
Liza, as the keeper of his soul. Liza too has secrets. She is a Daughter of the Multitude, a
sorceress. For reasons of her own she does not reveal
her
origins to Conar. He knows not who she is or where she
comes from, nor does it matter to him until she disappears
to allow him his honor as the marriage approaches. Liza is
aware that there are dark forces who will fight her claim
to Connor but she is determined to protect him with her
life. Tohre, unable to bear Conar's happiness with another, will
stop at nothing to own him once more. This is a classic
tale of good vs. evil. Good seems to have prevailed for the
moment, but evil has begun amass it's strength. Book two
is entitled The Windseeker.
