"Bermuda Triangle holds Mystery and Magic for one Sirenian Specialist"
Jase Guardian (formerly Dr. Jason Merrick) had left the
real world behind five years ago when his boat foundered in
the Sanctuary, an aquatic nature preserve amid several
uncharted islands within the Bermuda Triangle. Once a
prominent psychologist, Jase had hoped to prove that the
minds of autistic children could be reached with the aid of
dolphins, that he believed could communicate with them
using a different pathway. Ironically animal rights
activists had destroyed his dream when they bombed his
research facility, killing his dolphins and his research
assistant. He'd set sail to escape the pain. Now he was one
of the most gifted guardians in the Sanctuary, and one of
only two who could mentally communicate with all the
animals in the preserve. No humans other than the guardians were permitted to enter
the Santuary. Those guardians, like Jase, entered by
accident, during times when the protective barriers were
weak. None entering the Sanctuary were ever allowed to
leave including the animals, and only one man had ever
refused to become a guardian. The Sanctuary protected a
variety of endangered sea life, including some thought to
be
extinct. When the news reaches the Senior Guardian that Dr. Geneva
Kelsey, a marine biologist and sirenian specialist, has
discovered just such a species off the coast of Alaska, he
charges Jase with procuring the two Stellar's sea cows for
the Sanctuary. Jase is not pleased that his years of
isolation and solitude are at an end. Jase finds Geneva in Florida being hounded by reporters. He
aids her escape but she is furious when she discovers that
her rescuer also wants to know the location of her sea
cows. A demonstration of his abilities isn't quite enough
to quell her skepticism. Though frustrated, Jase isn't at
all concerned about the outcome of this venture. You see he
still has once ace left to play. He claims that the
Sanctuary has something that Geneva wants more than the sea
cows. Is has her twin brother, who along with her parents
had gone down in a plane crash twenty years ago off the
Florida coast. In the Sanctuary, Thomas Kelly had been
known as The Survivor, the one who had steadfastly refused
to pledge his loyalty and become a guardian. Hidden in the
depths of the handsome mystery man's tortured eyes is
another story, but can she afford not to trust him? Who is
this man really? Would she be the one to wipe away the
bitter memories that had hardened his heart to all but his
beloved animals? NEPTUNE'S bride is the tale of two lost and lonely souls
who have thrown all their love to their work, until that a
common goal brings them together and bridges the gap
between their two worlds. A very enjoyable fantasy romance. Copyright © 2002
