"Continuous action and a beautiful love"
Jermanah, a child of the Double Moon, was raised in the
compound and trained to serve the Highest, the High
Priestess. Unknown to the priestess and the other
accolates, she has also been studying with the Seer.
Jermanah has the gift of healing by touch and the Seer has
taught her to focus and use the gift. If the others knew,
they would be severely punished because the use of magic is
forbidden in the Compound. Jermanah accompanies the others to collect another Double
Moon child, a boy. As they return with the baby, they are
attacked by rebels and Jermanah and the baby she is
carrying are kidnapped. Kierigh, the rebel leader, takes
them to the rebel's hidden camp and he tells her that the
boy babies are actually sacrificed at the Stronghold rather
than being raised there, as she has been told. The ruler,
Zigor, is somehow renewed during the sacrifices. A child of the Double Moon, Kierigh was the firstborn of a
set of twins and hidden away by his grandmother immediately
after his birth. By the time his grandmother returned to
the house and his mother, the second baby had been taken by
the Highest. Kierigh believes that his brother, somehow,
is still alive and he intends to rescue him from the
Stronghold. The new baby's father collects the baby, but instead of
running away with him, he promptly takes the baby to the
Stronghold and offers him to Zigor for a price. What he
gets is death. The guards report this to Kierigh and he
decides that now is the time for his attack on the
Stronghold to save both the baby and his brother. Jermanah
already has formed a bond with Kierigh and wants to go with
him. She also wants to talk to the Seer and to collect
some things before the attack, but he refuses to allow her
to face the danger. Naturally, Jermanah goes anyway, following directions given
her by Kierigh's grandmother. When she reaches the
Compound, nothing is as it should be. The Seer is dead but
he's left a hidden message for her, instructing her to
get "The Book of Futures" from the Highest's room and to
read it. She manages to connect with Kierigh and they
receive help from an unexpected source. But will they be
able to accomplish their mission working together? Ms. Starr has a wonderful imagination and a real talent for
story telling. Two well matched, strong minded, main
characters with fantastic support characters and fast
continuous action make DOUBLE MOON DESTINY one great read.
When you add a beautiful love story with sensual scenes
that leave you tingling, you know you've found a winner.
Though fantasy isn't my favorite genre, I really enjoyed
reading this one. Thank you, *lizzie and keep them coming. PNR Reviews © Copyright 2002
