Vivian Carrington is one of the wealthiest and most
powerful women in the world, but when her best friend dies
she feels empty and rudderless. She travels the world
trying to find herself and ends up in New Orleans doing
research on voodoo for a friend. She spends a lot of her
spare time at Chat Noir, a popular nightclub.
The owner of Chat Noir, Sinjin, is actually a vampire
several hundred years old who is trying to recover from the
death of his one true love. When Vivian and Sinjin meet
sparks fly, but these two wary, heartbroken people are
afraid to become intimately involved with each other.
While they are dealing with these unwanted feelings, Sinjin
comes into possession of a book that other vampires would
kill for, and a hit man intends to make Vivian his next
J.C. Wilder is one of the best writers of supernatural
romances in the genre and her latest work is quite a
triumph. The romance between the two protagonists is
fascinating to observe but it's how the two make peace with
their pasts that makes TEMPTATION the author's best work to
date. A fast-paced, multilayered plot and a rousing climax
makes for a powerful reading experience.
