"A highly enjoyable futuristic romance"
Connal MacArran is both fascinated and repulsed by what he
knows of Sarian dream weavers, but this half-Sarian is the
last link to his missing friend and clansman, Garris.
Because of his desperation, Counselor Liandra Tavor agrees
to a dream seeking for the stranger that arrives at her
door. In spite of the stories of Sarian sensuality,
Liandra has never felt any real attraction to a man until
she finds herself with MacArran during their mind dream.
She
has never experienced anything to match the feelings as she
dream shares with Connal on her crystal bed. Suddenly
something goes wrong while dream sharing. When they
escape, Liandra is unconscious and Connal brings her and
her crystal bed to his hidden planet. Connel's upbringing of Caledonia's segregation from the
League and all technology comes into conflict with her
needs. Connel expects that she will adjust to her new home
on his planet. When Liandra attempts to escape, he
punishes her but jealousy of some clanswomen make the
punishment worse than intended. Soon, though Liandra is
accepted as part of the clan. They try another dream sharing and they are attacked by an
alien creature. There are many more twists and turns as
they find themselves fighting an unknown power and must
combine their efforts as well as that of others to save the
universe from the unknown aliens coming from another
dimension. The characterization of both the main characters and other
personalities in the story are a joy (or dread) to read.
Although there are some predictable events, this is a
highly enjoyable futuristic romance. The explanations of
world events and technology are consistent and easily
believable. The writing style keeps you turning pages in
anticipation. I read this first as the original paperback realease in
1997, but it was a pleasure to read again for review. I
hope Ms. Cooper writes a sequel, as I look
forward to visiting this world again. Cy Korte © Copyright 2002 For eBOOKISLE.com &
