"A Mesmerizing Tale of Predestined Passion"
Elizabeth Sanderson has no recollection of her life before
she was sent to live with her foster parents. She certainly
never would have entertained the idea that she'd even had a
life before this one. Unwelcome and unwanted, she had
quickly learned to be unobtrusive. She could easily be
described as unadventurous, but that would have been an
understatement. Who would have thought that she'd accept
the dare that had brought her face to face with
destiny? But from the moment the intricate tattoo is
emblazoned on her hip, her fate is sealed. The tattoo is an unusual one, bringing to mind a family
crest. Never having had a real family, that idea has strong
appeal for Elizabeth, but she can't fathom how the idea had
been pulled from her subconscious. The tattoo, it seems, is
a trigger because once acquired, Elizabeth is regaled with
erotic dreams involving a handsome foreigner. She is more alarmed than excited, however, when her dream
man appears in the flesh, to sweep her off her feet.
Roberto San Miguel carries a bizarre tale of a past life,
and a past love. Unlike Elizabeth, Roberto has memories of both lives, and
he has been waiting a long time to find her. He'd had
visions of her as she'd been growing up, but had been
unable to find her until now. Roberto's enemy had followed him into the next life as
well, and no sooner had he found the woman that fate had
meant for him, Eduardo's men attack. Certain that they will
both be safer on his own holding, he sweeps Elizabeth off
to Isla San Miguel. Elizabeth is stunned to find that the
design of the tattoo she'd envisioned is indeed the San
Miguel crest. She is wary of the situation, but Roberto can
speak to her mind. The pair dream in tandem, and eventually
Elizabeth begins to have dreams of her former life as a
slave girl named Lupita. Could it be true, that they are destined to reclaim a past
love, that tragically ended on the wedding day of their
former selves? Either way, Elizabeth is certain that this
brave, courageous, and handsome man makes her toes curl
and her heart sing. But if she accepts the fate before her,
will history repeat itself, or will they live happily ever
after at last? This is the type of romance that I loved while I was
growing up. An enigmatic foreign male sweeps the innocent
and lonely maiden off her feet and transforms her into a
woman of passion. Has there ever been a young heart who
hasn't entertained that fantasy? The characters are well
drawn, the peril is great, and the setting is utterly
romantic. A recommended read. Copyright © 2002
