"A winning tale"
At twenty-eight, Dr. Isabel Favor wrote the best selling
Four Cornerstones of a Favorable Life, which helped her
amass a fortune. However, six years later, her favorable
life seems in shambles. One corner Financial
Responsibility collapses when her business manager runs to
South America taking Isabel's money with him and leaving
behind a million-dollar tax debt. Though her lover stayed
with her while she became a joke on Letterman, which rips
asunder the cornerstone of Professional Pride for her,
Michael Sheridan shreds her Healthy Relationships
cornerstone when he leaves her. Isabel decides to refresh
the final cornerstone, Spiritual Dedication before starting
over. She leaves for some R & R in Italy. Hollywood actor Lorenzo Gage takes the media heat when his
former girlfriend commits suicide. Needing a break from
the "J'accuse" mentality partly caused by his screen image
as a villain, Ren flees to Tuscany where he meets Isabel.
They share an assignation, which leaves Ren stunned by his
desire and Isabel mortified by her lack of morals. As they
fall in love, can two media damned souls find happiness
together when both still hurt from their respective crisis? Susan Elizabeth Phillips provides a potent contemporary
romance starring two interesting characters and a
simplistic but intriguing self-help philosophy interwoven
into the plot. The story line engages the audience
starting with the public damnation of the lead couple.
Isabel is an impressive, intelligent individual while Ren
is the passionate, caring chap (off screen) that every
woman wants in her man. BREATHING ROOM entices the
audience to read in one sitting. Harriet Klausner
