"Wonderful romantic suspense"
It was a long flight home from Ireland, but tired attorney
Sara Read looks forward to relaxing in her Newport, Rhode
Island home. However, on the drive, a police car stops her
and the officers try to kill her. She manages to escape
and ultimately state visitor Owen Dean finds Sara on the
road and drives her to Newport. In Newport, Sara learns that everyone who knows her except
the killers think she is dead. She realizes that her
partner Tori is actually the victim. She does not trust
the police who loathe her for her vocal criticism of their
corruption and soon learns not to depend on prominent
citizens because they want her dead too, though Lori has no
idea why. Lori's only hope to survive is Judge Arnold, who
happens to be accused of her murder. Desperate, she turns
to Owen, a stranger and an actor to boot as her last chance
for survival. TRUST ME ONCE is an exciting romantic suspense drama that
starts at supersonic speed and goes even faster with enough
twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. The story
line is action-packed and never lets the reader go, though
the audience must accept at face value why Owen willingly
places himself in danger for a stranger who rejects police
assistance. Still, the audience will root for the couple
to win over overwhelming odds in a David and Davidette
teaming vs. Goliath confrontation. Sub-genre readers and
fans of May McGoldrick, the pseudonym of Jan Coffey, will
relish this strong story and trust the authors for more
like this one. Harriet Klausner
