REVIEW

"A fast-paced investigative romance"

In Bullion, California, new police partners (at least locally) Ben Jacobs and Czar the K9 provide a demo with reporter Jill Martin acting out the culprit's role. Though the demo went well, Czar falls in love with Jill. He behaves affectionately towards the woman, which shocks his handler Ben because this is so out of character for the dog except with him.

Meanwhile Jill obtains information that the Lord Barons Corporation is exploiting the locals. Her ex-husband is part of the nefarious scheme, which is not a surprise to the ethical Jill. However, Jill soon becomes a target with only Ben and Czar to intercede. While on her flank protecting Jill, the police officer joins his canine partner by falling in love with the woman they vow to keep safe.

WONDERS NEVER CEASE is a fast-paced investigative romance. The story line is entertaining due to the weird but engaging triangle as much as the well-written investigative subplot. Jill is intrepid and Ben is courageous but Czar's puppy love behavior steals much of the show. The police/journalist investigation augments the romance turning Debra Salonen's tale into an intrigue that fans can count on for plenty of pleasure.
