Upon her birth, the signs showed that the Sorcerer claimed
Khamsin. In an attempt to protect and hide her, she was
separated from the others at Cirrus Cove and was raised by
the Healer who taught her many things. At the deathbed
request of the Healer, Khamsin married Tavis whom she
thought understood her powers. It wasn't until later that
she began to wonder if she was still in danger and found
Tavis did NOT understand. In an attempt to please him, she
waited to practice the magic she felt necessary. By then
her spell was too late and Tavis and many of the townsfolk
were killed. Rylan, a traveling Tinker, rescues Khamsin from the
vengeful townsfolk who blame her for the deaths. He nurses
her back to health and asks her to join him but she feels
she must follow her need for training. She searches for
the wizard to teach her and to prepare for the expected
confrontation with the Sorcerer. She finds the help and
training she needs but also learns that all is not as she
had thought. There is a battle over the Orb of Knowledge
and Khamsin is the one who is destined to decide the
outcome. This adventurous tale of Khamsin is an exciting fantasy
quest with a touch of romance to spice up the adventure.
Those who live in this country at war will stir you with
their courage and caring for their comrades, which include
Khamsin. The growth in Khamsin as she begins to understand
her magical world and her own powers is sure to captivate
the reader. The relationship between Rylan and Khamsin
shows various aspects of their personalities and provides
an insider view of the conflict. These assorted plot
points engage the reader making this book hard to put down
and leave the reader wanting to join in the future they
