"engaging enough to read it in a solid shot"
HEARTMATE by Robin Owens was spectacular! Few books are
engaging enough to make me forego everything long
enough to read it in a solid shot (about 7 or 8 hours
punctuated by a few distractions). The characters are wonderful. I could have fallen in love
with Rand despite his faults even before he confessed
himself to his heartmate, and Zanth (Rand's fam) is one of
the best characters in the book. The love scenes are quick
but hot, and the storyline was interesting, though there
were a few questions I'd love to see answered. Maybe they will be when she writes more books on Celta. I
would love to see a story about Zanth and the Holly hunting
cat that incorporates the Holly men falling for women, and
I would love to know more about Rand's youth and the bond
Holm and Rand formed in Downwind. Excellent book and a
definite keeper! Brenna Lyons - Copyright April 2002 for PNR Reviews
