"Compelling and exciting story filled with fairies and other mythical creatures."
Shayla, Sorceress of the Ancients, has summoned Gryphon
O'Connor, Druid Warrior and Protector of a secret order of
mystical beings. His mission is to go to New York and
retrieve the Rune Stones of the Tuatha De! Danann. These
stones are old and until recently were buried with the
remains of an ancient Celtic family, who were sworn to
protect them at all cost. It is said that the stones are
very powerful. Anyone who deciphers the stones for honest
intent would be able to move about in a form reflecting
their true soul, but those seeking to use these stones for
evil would take the form of something monstrous. By the time Gryphon arrives in New York, the stones have
been taken and translated, and an elderly museum guard has
been brutally murdered. In order to find the stones Gryphon
approaches Heather Green, an Acquisitions assistant at the
Manhattan Museum of Antiquities, where he believes the
stones to be. Her initial reaction to him and his story
about the stolen rune stones is one of disbelief. But
could the death of the guard and the stones be connected? Will Gryphon and Heather be able to find the stones, and
fight the growing attraction between them? Well, I won't
tell. You'll just have to buy the book! Candace Sams has written an excellent first novel. It is a
compelling and exciting story filled with fairies and other
mythical creatures. Gryphon's Quest is also a story of
love, and acceptance. May have you asking yourself "just
how much would you willingly give up and sacrifice for
love." I have to admit that while reading this story my
eyes got a little misty, and yes I had to bring out the
tissues. My only complaint was that the story ended too
soon! I am looking forward to the next book about "The
Tales Of The Order". Charlene Smith © Copyright February 2002
