"I hated to leave this world behind - cast breathes with real life and passion"

Her young life has been spent locked away and devoted to constant training and education. At nineteen, Cwen is ready to get out and rebels. She runs into trouble as men that seem like something out of one of her beloved science fiction video discs attack her. Even more shocking, her weapons teacher, Vlad, comes to her rescue out of thin air with similar armament. He transports her back home to her Aunt Amma and once there Cwen is subjected to even more wondrous truths.

She and they belong to a race of space aliens that have been living in secret among humans for some time now. However, most of them live far in the future, in a world that has radically changed after a natural disaster alters Earth. Cwen is to be sent there, two thousand years from all she knows. Violently opposed to this idea, she is shoved through a time portal and into a new world. There she finds that life has regressed to emulate that of the Middle Ages. On the brighter side, she meets her parents, Sevea and Hebron, whom she had believed long dead, and is reunited with the only friend she ever had, Sashna. She also meets her destined husband, Otas, the Overlord. The fate of her people rests upon the two of them establishing a great love, and now it is more urgent than ever. The enemies who drove them from their far away home have found them. Led by evil Maacus, Otas' twin, they are determined to capture Cwen to be his queen instead of Otas, and destroy her people.

Amid a harsh world, Cwen and Otas gradually come to understand and love one another. Cwen also learns to use the Gift of powers that she naturally has which her husband enhances. Together, they lead their people on a quest off planet to their new home, but the enemy still pursues them. The solution to their problem will put Otas, Cwen, and their unborn children in the utmost jeopardy, but it is the only way.

Not since STAR WARS has an author so successfully combined fantasy with science fiction. Normally, I shy away from futuristics, but this one was captivating. Not once did the action abate, holding the reader's attention from page to page. However, that did not make it fall into the trap many novels of this genre do and short change characterization. Every one of the cast breathes with real life and passion. Otas is the ultimate Alpha male, but love makes him soften without once weakening; and Cwen makes for an interesting heroine, coping with so many new things that most of us would collapse under them all. The passion between them is volatile and real, though some may be disturbed by how close it comes to rape at times. I also really enjoyed her parents and the secondary romance between Sashna and Vlad. Though I hated to leave this world behind, the conclusion ties up all loose ends and does not leave one dangling.

SUMMARY

Cwen has the Gift, a host of extrasensory capabilities, but she doesn't know how to control them. One night she becomes angry with her aunt for not giving her revelations about who she really is. Cwen runs away, carrying a Ka- bar, because Vlad had taught her never to go out unarmed.

Fascinated by the sights and sounds of being outside the stuffy mansion, Cwen is careless. She is attacked by three beings that look like earthlings, but are in fact beings from another galaxy. Their purpose is to kidnap Cwen for their evil leader, Maccus. She becomes aware of her doom if she doesn't escape. Before the Trexrans can take her away, Vlad teleports to the alley where Cwen is being held and rescues her.

Back at the mansion, her Aunt Amma tells her that she is being hunted by a beast from another galaxy. Meaning Maccus, who is powerful with the Gift and wants Cwen as his Queen to create a master race of super beings with extrasensory capabilities. The only choice is to send Cwen far away from this threat. Aunt Amma and Vlad send Cwen far into the future, to the year 4010, where the inhabitants live like the folks of the middle ages following an upheaval of the Earth in the year 2010.

Fatigue from time travel prevents Cwen from asking her mother all of the questions raging in her head. She goes to sleep for the night. But that night is not without surprises. Cwen looses her virginity to a huge male, called Otas, who is powerful with Gift and the Overlord of a race a beings called Liambrians. Afterwards, Otas informs Cwen he is her husband. Before this new knowledge can sink in, Otas uses the Gift to put Cwen to sleep.

The next morning, rage rushes through Cwen. Sevea tries to quell that anger by telling Cwen she isn't an Earthling. She is Liambrian as well. The Liambrians are in exile on Earth, trying to hide from the Trexrans and Maccus. His plan to use the Liambrians to create a master race must be avoided at all cost...
