Blake Harrison needs a temporary wife or he'll lose his
inheritance. He seeks out Samantha Elliot, the owner of a
matchmaking firm. From the start, he's intrigued with her
and will not settle for anyone else. Samantha must be his
wife and he's used to getting his way. Samantha would like to refuse Blake, but he offers her a
deal she can't refuse. The money he's offering for a
platonic marriage of convenience will take care of her
sister, who needs twenty-four hour care. Samantha and Blake go into the marriage with plans to keep
it simple, but one toe-curling kiss and the two seem to
forget the marriage is a business transaction. Samantha
fears her heart is in danger and pretending she can walk
away unscathed isn't an option anymore. Blake's never had a
real relationship with a woman outside the bedroom door—at
least not one that mattered. Honesty was part of his deal
with Samantha. Men have hurt her in the past and he doesn't
want to be added to the list, but Blake is harboring a
secret that will brand him the king of deceit. Samantha and Blake's relationship is believable as they
work through their problems and get to know each other. I
enjoyed this engaging read from the beginning to the end.
