"Even better than the last one!"
Honor didn't have the best childhood. After all, foster
care isn't the best upbringing. Still, Honor managed to
overcome it and become a Guild Hunter specializing in
ancient languages. All her achievements came crashing down
around her when she was kidnapped and tortured by vampires
for over two months. It was amazing Honor even survived,
but she did. Physically, she's fine, but emotionally...not so
much. Unfortunately for Honor, her boss won't allow her to
hide in the Academy anymore. Instead, Sara wants Honor to
go to the Tower for a consult. The Tower, which is filled
with vampires. Nothing else for it, so Honor screws up her
courage and heads to the Tower. Here she ends up meeting
with none other than Dmitri—the one vampire Honor has
always had a thing for. Dmitri is called to the murder site of a young vampire—a
very young vampire. Well, not exactly the murder site,
actually more like a dump site because the only thing there
was the head. Since Dmitri doesn't know the victim's
identity, he calls the Guild Hunters for help. There is a
strange tattoo on the head Dmitri can't identify. Hopefully
the Hunter will be able to identify the tattoo. Once she
arrives, Dmitri is stunned to realize this is the one
Hunter who was held by vampires for over two months. For
some reason, Dmitri is intrigued by her and knows that he
will have her—well, until he becomes tired of her anyway.
He sees Honor as a challenge. Not only does Dmitri promise Honor that he will help her
find the vampires who kidnapped and tortured her, but he
requires that she spend time with him to find out about the
tattoo on the murdered vampire. Eventually, Honor manages
to overcome her fear of vampires and the more time she
spends with Dmitri, the more she realizes they were meant
to be together. Will Honor and Dmitri be able to find out who killed the
young vampire and why? Will they find who was behind
Honor's kidnapping and torture? Is there a chance of a
relationship between these two? ARCHANGEL'S BLADE (GUILD HUNTER) is the best one of the
series yet! I don't know how Nalini Singh does it, but she
has such a gift for bringing two wounded people together.
And this one is the best yet as far as that goes.
Everything Dmitri suffered when he became a vampire and
what he was forced to do made him into the man be became—
hard, cold, lethal, unfeeling. And Honor, with what the
vampires did to her when they had her. I just loved
watching how these two come together and become whole
again. Nalini Singh's stories are always heartwrenching,
but none more so than this one. I cannot recommend this
story highly enough. Well done!

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh is back in the shadows of a deadly, beautiful world where angels rule, vampires serve, and one female hunter must crawl out of the darkness to survive… The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past…but Dmitri’s need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo. Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel’s right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality…the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her. As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting…and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more… Genre: Paranormal Romance, Vampire, Fantasy
