"Keeps Getting Better and Better"
POWER UNBOUND is centered around Stephen, who is determined
to pass the test for the sixth order, and Ione, who is a
powerless gadda unable to pass even the test for the first
order. When they meet the attraction is immediate, however
they might never have acted upon it if Ione hadn't become
tainted by the Forbidden Texts. And that taint is spreading and the Guardians are being ran
ragged just trying to keep up. With everything else that
is going on, will Ione and Stephen be given a chance to
find out just where the attraction will take them? And
more importantly, will the Guardians be able to find the
thief that stole the Forbidden Texts. If I was impressed by the first book in the Dream of
Asarlai series, I was totally blown away by the second
book. It is a rather unique urban fantasy with characters
that are so thought out they walk right off the page to
greet the reader. I just loved Ione. She is a pauper in a world where power
is the riches, yet she never resents this and draws people
toward her with her warm heart and her excellent cooking.
With her loving assistance, Stephen is able to let go of
some very old resentments that have shaped his life. And
Jack, Ione's son, is a really great kid and so totally a 10
year old boy. I will admit that POWER UNBOUND drew me so deeply into the
story that I really didn't want to put it aside for such
mundane considerations such as sleep or work. I highly
recommend this book and series to anyone that is looking
for a unique romantic urban fantasy.
