"Alpha wolf and Cardinal Psy, a combustible mating!"
In this Psy/Changeling story, we're once again with the
SnowDancer wolf pack. Ever since we were introduced to the
SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has been getting under
Hawke's—the Alpha of the pack—skin. A fact Sienna is very
happy about. However, Sienna wants to do more than just get
under Hawke's skin and always has. Ever since the Lauren
family defected from the Psy, Sienna has wanted Hawke as
her mate. Now she's finally old enough for him to notice
her as a woman, not that Sienna ever was a child. As a
cardinal X-Psy, Sienna was taken from her family at the age
of five and became Councillor Ming's pet project. At least
now that Sienna has been working with Sascha, she's learned
to control that X power to some degree. But it's growing—a
lot. Hawke met his destined mate at a young age, but then he
lost her while they were still children. Now Hawke knows he
will never experience the mating bond with a woman. But
there's something about Sienna and has been ever since her
family asked for and was given asylum in the SnowDancer
wolf pack. Since that time, they've all integrated into the
pack. Judd is one of his lieutenants now, Walker has become
invaluable working with the juveniles, the two children,
Toby and Marlee are loved by all and then there's Sienna.
Beautiful, dangerous Sienna, who's never showed any fear of
him. The one woman Hawke would like nothing better than to
call his own, even if he can't offer her a mating bond.
However, Hawke still feels that Sienna would never be able
to handle his wolf with as young as she is. And there's the Pure Psy SnowDancer has to worry about. For
some reason, they want to take out SnowDancer. And this is
where Sienna's knowledge of Ming comes in very handy as she
can predict what he will do and all Psy know Ming is the
best at military strategy. Naturally, Hawke takes advantage
of her advice, finally seeing her as an adult and not a
child. Will Hawke and Sienna get together? Will they ever
experience the pleasure that comes with a mating bond? What
of the fact Sienna is a cardinal X-Psy? Will they be able
to find a way to keep her from self-destructing as her
power increases? And what about the Psy? Will they defeat
SnowDancer? KISS OF SNOW is cover to cover excitement. There is nonstop
action in this story by Nalini Singh as it comes down to
the battle between Psy Councillor Scott with his Pure Psy
faction and the SnowDancer wolf pack. Still, this is a
romance and we have plenty of that between Hawke and
Sienna, and there's even the added bonus of a second mating
in this story. And don't forget, Sascha was real close to
having her baby. I've said this before and it definitely
bears repeating: Nalini Singh has a real talent in taking
two very wounded people and bringing them together. There
is nothing more touching than watching the hero and heroine
come together and seeing how, in this case, they deal with
Sienna's power and Hawke's past. I have to admit, even
though I get an electronic version of the books to read, I
always buy a paper copy when it releases because I
absolutely adore all of Nalini Singh's books. I can't wait
to see what happens with the Psy now. This is an excellent
series and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
