"Delightful Story!"
Dashiel (Dash) Thorpe has never felt good in his own skin—
his wolf skin that is. His mother died at childbirth and
his father never accepted him, blaming Dash for his
mother's death. Though Dash is an Earl, he doesn't take the
responsibility seriously and women are no more than a
conquest for him to bed. Catrin (Cait) Macleod is a witch with an amazing ability to
read people's futures. Only the gift can leave her daunted
at times. She craves a quiet life, but a chance encounter
with Dashiel sets her life on a different course. Arrogant
and bossy, she wants nothing to do with Dash Thorpe, or so
she claims. In his arms, she finds the peace and quiet, a
strange occurrence she's never experienced with anyone. Dash is determined to make Cait his wife, but Cait will not
have it. Dash is not used to having his desires denied.
Cait has always seen the future, but not with Dash. How can
she be with him if she doesn't know how it will all turn
out? Ms. Dare has written an entertaining, light read into the
paranormal world of witches and werewolves. I loved the
witty banter between Cait and Dash. They were truly meant
for each other. The only thing that rang false with me was the interaction
with Dash and his father. For a lifetime of hatred and
mistrust, their time together seemed rushed and a little
unrealistic. (I can't say more because I don't want to give
anything away.) However, this minor detail in no way
overshadows the delightful story. I look forward to reading
the other stories in this series. This is the first book I've read by Lydia Dare. Characters
are mentioned from previous books, but I had no
trouble reading this book as a stand alone tale. Reviewed by: Karen
