"Series gets better with each new book!"
Now that M.J. and team have defeated the ghouls in
Scotland, they're headed to a castle in Ireland. Since M.J.
has officially ended things with Dr. Delicious, she's a
free agent again. This castle is situated on an island off
the Irish coast and they can only get to it during certain
hours. There is a walkway they can use to get from the
mainland to the castle, but it's only crossable during
certain times. When they finally arrive at the village
close to Dunlow Castle, they're all exhausted and refuse to
do anything but sleep. Unfortunately, there's not enough
rooms in the place they're staying, so M.J. ends up sharing
with Gilley. They had to sign a special release before
receiving permission to even go on to Dunlow Castle. The
phantom inhabiting the castle has killed people, including
a Coast Guard, so if anything happens, the team will be on
their own. When the whole crew gets to Dunlow Castle, it's right
before a storm is due to hit the area, but Gopher insists,
so they go against their better judgment. As soon as M.J.
and Heath get to the top of the stairs leading to the
castle, they can feel an evil entity—the phantom. When rain
starts pouring down, they all go into the castle. While
M.J. and Heath are helping the others, Gopher goes
exploring. While searching for Gopher, M.J. and Heath meet
the phantom—not a pleasant experience by any means. After
that, they decide to go back down the stairs and try to
find shelter closer to the causeway. They do find a cave
and decide to wait until they can cross back to the
mainland there. For some reason, the phantom won't come
down the stairs. Will the team be able to find Gopher? Do they have any hope
against the phantom? What of the attraction between M.J.
and Heath? Will they act on it? GHOULS, GHOULS, GHOULS: GHOST HUNTER MYSTERY BOOK 5 picks
up seamlessly from the ending of GHOULS GONE WILD and takes
us on another thrilling ghost busting story. Victoria
Laurie has a very readable style and I was hooked from the
very first page and didn't want it to end. There's thrills
and chills galore, especially when M.J. and Heath meet the
phantom. The characters are all very likeable and Gilley is
something else. Made me laugh when he ate out of stress and
put on ten pounds. And yes, Victoria Laurie always has some
humor in her stories. Well done, Victoria Laurie!
