"an emotional story of love and acceptance"
Megan has spent the last year trying to get on with living
after her break up with the love of her life. So when
Trevor Wyatt barges into her best friend's bake shop while
she's picking out a cake, all the feelings she has tried to
suppress come bubbling to the surface. Her love for Trevor
was never the issue, it still wasn't, but she just couldn't
deal with the distance that had grown between them when
Trevor returned injured from Afghanistan. Knowing that just
being around him is a danger to her fragile heart, how will
she ever get through the next two weeks while he's in town
for his brother's wedding? Trevor is beyond ticked when he believes Megan is engaged
to be married. Though he has no right to be, since he
pushed her away and caused their engagement to be called
off a year ago. His experience in Afghanistan left him
damaged goods, and Megan deserved better than that. But he
just can't seem to let her go; could there be a second
chance for them? Does he deserve one? When Megan gets a taste of what her and Trevor had together
and what could be, she is determined to help Trevor battle
his demons. But will her love be enough to pull him from
the dark place he's in? She's willing to do whatever it
takes to bring Trevor back to the world of the living. Command and Control is book two in the Holding Out
for a Hero series. Shelli Stevens has written a very
emotional story of two people who are meant to be together,
but circumstances have come between them. Their story
speaks to the power of love and acceptance, and its ability
to heal even the deepest of wounds. I loved Megan and
Trevor, they are both strong characters who have lived
through a lot of pain. When the two come together the
chemistry is explosive, and the reader is caught up in
their emotion as well. Ms. Stevens leaves it open for a
third story in the series for the youngest Wyatt brother,
Todd, and I for one am looking forward to reading it. For a
short, satisfying read pick up Command and Control.
