"Quick and intensely erotic werewolf short story"
Having been coerced into going to a Halloween party, Karen
was not happy. Although she lived a boring life and worked
entire too much, she was burnt out and craved something
new. Not to mention she had been losing sleep because she
had been having vivid dreams about a mysterious, green-eyed
lover. Surprisingly, the mysterious man from her dreams
appeared to her at the party and asked her to dance. Of
course, she had to indulge. As a werewolf, Anthony knew the moment he smelled his
mate. He had been following Karen for some time and
learning everything he could about her. Knowing her past
relationship ended badly, he had been giving her space and
time to recover. But, when he followed her to the
Halloween party and seeing her scantily dressed in her
costume, he could not stay away any longer. Anthony planned to take things slow with Karen, but an
altercation outside of the party results in a change of
plan. He must protect Karen and explain the werewolf world
while earning her trust and love. Lycan Lover is an enjoyable short story, especially
for
readers wanting a quick, erotic read. Honestly, this book
reads more like a full-length novel, especially at the
beginning, which is a trait I like. But, the pacing is
fast, even a bit too fast, leaving me wishing this story
was longer. Karen and Anthony's love affair is quick and intense.
Karen is easy to relate to since her emotions are similar
to those of many women. Although Anthony is overbearing,
his protective nature is endearing. I think they would
make a good couple, but since the pacing of the story was
so fast, I wish I could have become more acquainted with
Karen and Anthony. Overall, Lycan Lover is a good stand-alone, short
story.
There was not much introduction into the world of
werewolves, but there is the potential for other stories
that expand upon this new world.
