As a best selling author of dark fantasy erotica, Wynter
McGregor has an active imagination. However, even her
imagination has limits. So when the handsome young hunk
starts flirting with her in her local market, Wynter is
hurt and runs away. After all, Wynter knows she could no
longer attract someone that young. She's a bit on the
chunky side and has already gone through menopause. So when
a young woman shows up on her doorstep with a delivery from
the very same store she was at containing all of Wynter's
favorites, she becomes suspicious. She's still mulling this
over when she receives a call from her agent requesting
Wynter's appearance at a booksigning, something Wynter just
doesn't do. After the arguing is over, it is decided that
Wynter will have to be the one to break the news to the
owner of the bookstore. The young man in the market is none other than Keagan Cree,
a Reaper who has loved Wynter through the ages. In every
life, Wynter has turned down his offer of immortality, and
so he has to lose her. After being in jail for killing a
man in defense of his woman, he's finally free and ready to
pursue Wynter. Of course, she's a bit older than when he
normally finds her, but Cree doesn't mind. When he finds
his half-brother, a NightWind, is also pursuing Wynter,
Cree goes ballistic. With the two of them fighting, they
don't immediately notice the Ridgelord standing in their
midst. Turns out the Ridgelord declares they shall have a
contest to see who will Wynter, however there is one
condition—neither one of them can use magic to win the
lady. And so begins the pursuit. Which one will Wynter choose—the Reaper or the NightWind?
What will happen when Cree transitions and is confined to a
cell for the duration? Will the NightWind play by the
rules, or will he cheat? Once again, Charlotte Boyett-Compo delivers an exciting
read in WINDS THROUGH TIME. I really loved the way Wynter's
writing was woven throughout the story and how it turned
out to be the stories of her past lives with Cree. Have to
admit, I found this story just as compelling as all the
others I have read by Charlotte Boyett-Compo. And there's a
bonus in this story, I got to find out how characters from
other stories are getting on now.
