"Entertaining light read!"
Piper O'Donnell hasn't exactly been happy since her husband
told her they had to move to Woodlawn, Ohio. Even though
the move was supposed to come with a big promotion, Piper
misses New York City. About the only socializing Piper can
find is at the Woodlawn Country Club. Really, Piper only
has one friend, Tanya. The other two ladies they play a
foursome with are not exactly what Piper would call
friends, but she does her best to impress them anyway. At
least there's a major hottie in the liquor store Piper can
flirt with, because there's no way she would jeopardize her
marriage. So when her husband tells Piper he has to go to
the city for the weekend, Piper decides to add the sunroom
she's wanted. When she returns from talking with the
contractor, Piper notices her husband's car in the drive,
which is strange. Why did he come home when he was supposed
to be in New York? Shrugging it off, Piper decides to
surprise him. However, Piper is the one surprised when she
finds him dead in the bathroom with blood all over him. Now
Piper finds herself the number one suspect in his murder
investigation. And that's not all she discovers. Who killed Piper's husband and why? What other secrets does
Piper discover about her husband? Will Piper be able to
find the perfect outfit for the funeral? PAR FOR THE COURSE is an entertaining read. Jennifer Vido
tells a fast-paced mystery with a bit of romance thrown in.
While this is not by any means a deep read, it is light and
will keep any reader turning pages. I feel the heroine
could have been a bit more sympathetic, as at times, I
found myself cheering for her, while at others, I found
myself really disliking her. But if you're in the mood for
something to keep you occupied for a few hours, something
that moves fast and is light, this is the book for you.
