"If you enjoy shifters and historicals this is a good combination, bringing the two together"
Sethmet and his family have had the honor of protecting the
Pharaoh's tomb for generations, as a gift from the Pharaoh
to help them keep his treasures safe he gave Sethmet and
his ancestors the ability to shift into a Lynx. It is his
job to keep the treasure hunters away from the tombs,
failure to fulfill his duty will cause the downfall of his
family and a curse to be placed on them all. After her husband's death Charlotte has decided to join her
step-brother on a trip to learn the history of the Pharaoh
and the people of Egypt. Here she will be able to relax
and paint some of the best pictures she has ever done.
What she did not expect to find in the desert was a man who
would give her more joy and love than she has ever had
before. But, to her step-brother Sethmet is nothing but a
servant, but she knows better, he is more than that. Sethmet is surprised to find himself drawn to Charlotte and
is ready to claim her as his mate, she has accepted the cat
as a friend, how will she react when she finds that the cat
is also the man she is falling in love with. As they travel through Egypt, Sethmet and Charlotte
discover feelings neither thought they would ever have, but
can they hold on to what they have found with each other,
or will it be ripped away from them. I was not sure if I would be able to read through this
story when I found that it was based in a historical
setting, not my favorite genre, but I quickly forgot about
what era they were in, the plot and the growing
relationship between Sethmet and Charlotte drew me
completely into the book.
