"A great introduction to this author"
Cassandra Geoffrey owns In the Pines Campground in
Potterville, West Virginia. The mountain campground is busy
for six months of the year but is empty for the remaining
six months, leaving Cassandra alone in her mountain cabin
during her off-season. While not ideal, it does allow her
time to read about the man of her dreams, sure that there's
no possible way he will appear on her doorstep. Except he does. The man of her dreams is Jason Callisto, member of
Touchstone, a popular rock band that's up for a Grammy.
Jason needs some time to decompress and get himself
together before the Grammys are presented, which is why he
was sent to the campground in the first place. Two years
ago he was dumped in People Magazine by the woman he wanted
to marry, and he hasn't quite recovered. Cassandra is terrified and thrilled at Jason's arrival,
seeing him as an exciting adventure in her otherwise quiet
life, but he sees her as a way to get over his ex and boost
his self-esteem. Neither of them expected the other to become something more. I loved this book. The characters were real, as were their
internal struggles with the developing relationship. I
found all of the characters to be well-developed, including
the secondary characters, which allowed me to get to know
all of Potterville's residents. I thought the story moved
at just the right pace, which kept me engaged throughout
the book. This is the first time I've read anything by this author,
but it certainly won't be the last!
