"Quick entertaining read!"
After the success of the TV show, Peter Gophner—Gopher—
managed to talk Bravo into filming on location in a show
called Ghoul Getters. Even though her partner Gilley
Gillespie is all gung ho for the idea, M.J. isn't about to
rush into anything. After all, if she does agree, M.J. will
be gone for ten weeks. Not only will she have to leave her
African Gray parrot Doc behind, but Dr. Delicious as well.
At least that's what Doc calls her boyfriend, Dr. Steven
Sable. And Steven is a partner in their business. Turns out
Heath Whitefeather—he's the medium M.J. met during the TV
show—is all for the idea. Considering the money Gopher is
offering them and the fact M.J. can nix any location, she
reluctantly agrees. Just before they're due to leave,
Gopher finds a new location and sends Gilley a file. Turns
out there's a local ghost guide and he takes a pug puppy
down a supposedly haunted street and when M.J. sees how
terrified the puppy is, she explodes. And so Queen's Close,
Scotland becomes the first stop for Ghoul Getters. When they arrive in Queen's Close and are all settled in
and M.J. and Heath meet with the local ghost guide, he
leads them down the same street and both mediums have a
really bad reaction. Not that the man is in any way
repentant, just the opposite in fact. Well, that didn't go
well at all. At least Kim, the assistant, manages to find
the puppy and M.J. immediately falls in love with it and
decides to adopt little Wendell. They have enough people so
Wendell won't be alone. Kim also manages to find warm
clothing for them and a great crystal shop. When M.J. and
Heath finally go down to the caverns, they find a dead man
and all kinds of grounded spirits down there. After all,
these caverns are where they used to put people when they
caught the plague. However, there's also a witch who was
put to death by the villagers and has vowed revenge against
the families who killed her. This witch's spirit shows up
every hundred years and kills a member of each family
involved in the death of her and her sisters. After a really rocky start, M.J. and Heath realize they're
going to need help on this bust and it comes in the form of
Heath's deceased grandfather. Not to mention, Gilley's
family was one of those responsible for the witch's death
and he has become her next target. Will M.J. and Heath be able to keep Gilley safe? Exactly
why are these spirits so strong? Why did the witch come
back thirty-years early and who called her? GHOULS GONE WILD A GHOST HUNTER MYSTERY: BOOK 4 is a fast-
paced thrilling story. Victoria Laurie obviously knows
what's she talking about when it comes to ghost busting.
Have to admit, before I read this story, I went out and
bought the first three stories in the series and absolutely
loved them! So I was really looking forward to this one and
Victoria Laurie didn't disappoint. With each one of these
stories, it seems M.J. goes up against a stronger spirit.
With her boyfriend in the States, M.J. finds herself
attracted to Heath—in a big way—and he's already made his
feelings clear. Victoria Laurie's writing style pulled me
right into the story and kept my attention until the end,
when I found myself hoping for more. All I can say is I've
added another auto-buy author to my ever growing list. I
plan on getting her PSYCHIC EYE series soon and can't wait
for the next book in this one. Great story!
