"Charlotte Boyett-Compo does it again!"
Reaper Phelan Kiel was feeling restless, so when fellow
Reaper and friend Iden Belial leaves after a visit, Phelan
decides to patrol his territory of Vircars. So he heads
west and ends up in Robbinsville. While there, Phelan is
told of some problems in Haxton Cove, a new mining town.
Before he leaves Robbinsville, Phelan feels someone
watching him. When he finally finds the man watching him,
Phelan can smell that the man is a Reaper and since he's
not anyone Phelan knows, he can only assume the man is a
rogue. Turns out Fontabeau Sorn is a hell hound, also sent
to Terra by Morrigunia. Beau's job is watch over his boss,
Desdon Bell. When Beau makes his interest in Phelan clear,
Phelan isn't exactly pleased and reacts rather violently.
After that experience, Phelan is more than happy to leave
and go to Haxton Cove. Upon arrival in the mining town,
Phelan is shocked by the lack of respect he receives as a
Reaper. Eventually, Phelan ends up in the whorehouse—the
only place in town with decent food—and sees a portrait of
a beautiful woman, only to turn around and see her in the
flesh. The woman is Lucy Lou, the madam of the place and
Phelan is drawn to her. Of course, Lucy is just as drawn to
Phelan. Now Phelan knows something is definitely wrong in
When Phelan and Beau meet up again in Haxton Cove, they
both realize they must work together to find out what is
going on and why the people are behaving so strangely. And
a deep friendship develops between the two of them. Of
course, the Shadowlords were not exactly pleased to find
another Reaper on Terra they knew nothing about.
What is going in Haxton Cove? Will Phelan and Beau be able
to fight it alone, or will they require some aid from the
other Reapers? What of the relationship between Lucy,
Phelan and Beau? Which one will Phelan end up with?
WESTERNWIND: BLACK MOON REAPER takes us back to the
fighting and foes we've all become accustomed to in the
WESTERNWIND series. Charlotte Boyett-Compo does finally
answer the question of Phelan's sexual proclivities in this
story when he takes his mate. We also learn a lot more
about the head Shadowlord Kheelan Ben-Alkazar—most of which
he didn't want anyone to know. And we get to catch up with
all the Reapers and their mates we've already come to know
and love. As with all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's stories,
I became caught up in the story from the very beginning and
can't wait to see where she takes the series next. Highly

His fellow Reapers had always wondered about Phelan Kiel's sexual orientation. Was he what he seemed or was he simply a man who liked to keep his teammates guessing? Did his desires run to the ladies or did he crave different pleasures, stronger hands and harder bodies? Or did he need both to make him complete?
Gunman Fontabeau Sorn came to Robbinsville with a secret he dared share with no one. Working undercover for the Triune Goddess he wasn't looking to be mated; it was the farthest thing from his mind. But when Phelan walked out of the General Store, Sorn's hormones began to heat, his body harden, and Beau made up his mind the handsome young Reaper would be his. Convincing Phelan was another matter.
Lucy Springbrook was a Madame and right proud of her ability to turn a man inside out with her luscious body. One look at Phelan and that was all it took for her to decide he was the one for whom she'd been created.
Three hearts. Three bodies. Three blazing desires to set the frontier on fire. But only two of the three will find their passions igniting into a raging inferno while the third will be left with a mouth tasting of ashes. Which one will it be?
