Olivia's world is turned upside down when she learns she is a unique being and is just one of many such beings that walk the earth unbeknownst to humans. Besides being pursued by two sexy vampires, it seems she is a hot commodity. A group of fanatics named the Guardians want to use her abilities to purify the earth of the evolved species. Olivia is forced to flee with an incredibly sexy Italian vampire who teaches her all about her ability to feel passion more intensely than a normal human.

Their journey takes them across the Pine Barrens of New Jersey where they meet a legendary creature who has a surprising story, to the shores of Lake Ontario where ancient Native American legends come to life. Through all this Olivia struggles with her new found abilities and her attraction to two vampires who both make her sizzle.
