"A sweet love story that sizzles"
Maverick Holms and Duke Warren have shared an apartment for
the four years they were in college, and soon, they'll be
going their separate ways for further education. Duke has
always been Mav's best buddy, the guy he went on double
dates with, the person he turns to when he needed a
shoulder or a hand. But recently, Mav starts feeling more
for Duke, and innocent questions or suggestions turns to
the erotic inside his head with two primary actors--Duke
and himself. A game of gay chicken becomes an excuse to
touch and kiss...and to do more. Yet through it all, Mav is
in a constant state of denial. Will he lose Duke just when
he has found the love of his life? Str8te Boys is a sweet love story of first
explorations, first kisses, as Mav explores his true sexual
orientation under the guise of playing the game of gay
chicken, where the guys dare each other in sexual flirting,
and whoever gives up first loses. I don't normally read
GLBT, though I love menages, but I like this story. Like
any relationship, Mav's and Duke's went through the usual
steps of romance and denial, before arriving at realization
and acceptance. The sex scenes are done in a tasteful manner, and I could
feel the guys' emotions and yearning toward the other,
especially Duke's hurt and Mav's confusion toward the end.
The chemistry between the two is sizzling, and there's the
underlying hint of a forbidden romance running throughout
the entire story, forbidden in the sense that the guys are
still in the closet regarding their relationship,
especially with Mav hiding from the truth even from himself. The story reads like an M/F relationship at its basic core,
but of course, the dynamics are somewhat different, there
being two males as the primary characters. Pick it up if
you're looking for a good book to read.

How far would you dare to go…to win it all? Maverick Holms and Duke Warren share almost everything—a college soccer team, an apartment and the same extremely competitive nature. Thanks to that never-back-down spirit, they’re about to share more than they bargained for. The game is “gay chicken”. The rule: get as close as possible without kissing, and the one that pulls away first is the loser. The problem: neither of them likes to lose. It isn’t long before the game becomes an excuse to touch and kiss in every possible forbidden way. And after they pose for a gay website to earn extra money, things really heat up. Suddenly Duke is talking lifetime commitment, and Mav is backpedaling as hard as he can, not sure if he’s ready to accept all his best friend is offering him. Or the truth about what he is. Warning: Hot M/M sex inside. Do not open this book if you don’t like the idea of two deliciously muscular best friends becoming lovers.
