"a spectacular journey"
On the planet, Aoro, some Guardians lead the High Empress
to safety through tunnels, after the palace is attacked by
revolutionaries. After the High Empress is trapped under
rubble when the tunnel collapses, she gives the six
remaining Guardians, her elite guard, a task, before she
dies. The Guardians flee, because the new leader is
determined to see them all dead, and it is not yet time to
fulfill their task. Later, Tasi, the youngest Guardian,
finds herself trapped in a room above a tavern with Aroro
soldiers gunning for her. Luckily, a handsome Daamen
trader, Heddam, helps her escape. Heddam finds himself
attracted to the Guardian, but Tasi has her duty to attend
to. SOUL OF A GUARDIAN is a wonderful, science fiction romance
filled with rip-roaring adventure and endearing
characters. From the very beginning, Ms. Verdenius grabbed
this reader's attention and took me on a spectacular
journey. Tasi is a strong, kick-butt heroine with a great
sense of humor, but her duty rests heavily on her
shoulders. Heddam is very determined to help Tasi, no
matter what she wants. Once he realizes that he loves
Tasi, Heddam knows his place is by her side. He will not
try and stop her from fulfilling her duty, but he will
fight by her side through thick and thin. (true hero
material) All the Daamen traders are yummy and the
interactions between these friends are priceless. Too bad
there aren't any Daamens around here!

Revolutions...broken loyalties, betrayal and death. The Guardians...only they hold the knowledge to take back what has been lost, but they’ve been hunted until only one remains standing. The Daamen trader...can he capture and keep the heart of the woman who is such a mystery? Or will the Soul of a Guardian be consumed in the final destruction?
