"Mathews is a true storyteller"
Marly Mathews is one of those authors who can do just about
any genre; straight Historicals or Paranormals, and
delivers on all levels. She has proven time and again
with novels such as His Lady's Keeper, Enchanting Beauty,
Dragon's Heart and Do or Die that Mathews is an amazing
storyteller. In Dark Phoenix, she set a sexy tale of Alora
Bishop. A woman with dark secrets, she is forced into
slavery and being set for sale on the intergalactic slave
market. She is carried to a desert planet, not fit for
survival. Only, Fate takes a different turn, as she is
rescued by Garrett Firestorm;a Crimson Phoenix. Garret is
an Immortal, and was born with a magical soul. It's his
task to send his fleet of freedom fighters about the
galaxies to fight the forces of evil. Dark Phoenix has a riveting hero, dark and menacing
villain, a super heroine and strong secondary characters.
This author was able to bring alive the desert planet, make
you feel the arid setting, the heat. But the real heat is
between Garrett and Alora! I highly recommend this read
for someone wanting a fresh voice in paranormal romance.
