REVIEW

"Wonderful historical mixed with paranormal"

Rhiannon has no idea who she is or where she came from, what she does know is that strange things are happening to her and she wants answers. When she discovers that she has lost not just a few years of memories but fifty and that she is something more than just human, she decides to find the truth of who she is and what she is.

Dante is an Abcynian Elder and an artist who has found his mate and he will do whatever he can to help Rhiannon regain her memory and make her his wife. While he is trying to be patient he finds himself wanting to make Rhiannon his mate in all ways. Now he must also deal with a jilted betrothed who has come searching for Rhiannon and will do whatever it takes to get her back.

As Rhiannon begins to learn what she is from Dante and as her memories begin to return, they find themselves bonding together and fighting the people who want to tear them apart. Will their love for each other be able to survive?

I will admit that I had a hard time getting past the first chapter but once I was into chapter two I was hooked, I had to finish it. The characters seem to jump off the page and draw you back into the book with them.

SUMMARY

Plagued by horrific headaches and fear of a past she cannot remember, Rhiannon Mathews has spent the last 20 years being unknowingly prepared to become the wife of an earl. When the loathsome earl displays a stolen painting, Rhiannon is inexplicably drawn to its depiction of a mythical ancient race. If this painting holds the key to unlocking her past, she and her maid must escape the earl’s prison, and flee to Florence in the desperate hope of finding the artist.

While visiting the Piazza della Signoria two months later, Rhiannon is unaware that the very man she’s come to Florence to find has been watching her from a distance. Master artist Dante Luciano is a 242 year old Abcynian Elder, and capable of changing into a lion. Once he speaks with her mind-to-mind, thus claiming her in the way of their kind, he rushes to take her home, only to discover that she is terribly ill. Because Dante can do nothing other than care and protect his mate, he enables Rhiannon to heal and reclaim her memory. But their future will be threatened by her fears of her past and a vicious man’s plans for Rhiannon.
