"A sweet romance about learning to love again"
After being hit in the head by her abusive husband,
Victoria is knocked unconscious and awakens to find herself
in another body and living in ancient Egypt. The body she
inhabits belonged to Mayati, a married woman who died
during childbirth. Mayati's husband, Khaemhat, knows
immediately that Victoria is not Mayati. Victoria must
learn about her new culture and try to overcome the ghosts
of her past, especially that of her abusive husband. What a sweet story! Khaemhat lost his wife as Victoria
lost her previous life. The two start anew, beginning a
new life together. Their relationship is therapeutic for
each of them, initiating a charming romance. A few
inconsistencies and confusing moments left me scratching my
head, but do little to take away from the overall
likability of this romance.
