"A highly sensual intergalactic romp"
Tabitha is a new recruit on an intergalactic police cruiser
ship. Unfortunately, her first encounter with Captain
Keer, the commander of the ship, is less than flattering.
Since her first impression was not favorable with Captain
Keer, Tabitha is ignored and disregarded. When an
important mission to gather data about a slave trader is
assigned to the crew, Tabitha decides to help, but getting
herself caught by the slaver trader in question. Her only
hope is that Captain Keer will find her and release her
from her torment, both mental and physical. I liked Tabitha. She reminds me of myself: motivated, a
bit naïve, and a lot clumsy. Captain Keer is incredibly
stoic and reserved. Together, they match well. I did not
completely understand how the characters could fall for
each other, especially since they had not spoken much, but
I give the author the benefit of the doubt that maybe I
missed something. Or it was love at first sight. Overall, Punishing Tabitha is a thoroughly enjoyable
short story. I can only fault the story in that I wished
Keer had more time to tell the story in his perspective
earlier on in the story. Since he explains himself later,
this fault is minor. The rest of the story is humorous and
extremely sensual. A great short story!
