"All consuming! A definite must read!"
Mercy is a leopard changeling and a high-ranking enforcer
for her pack. She is the liaison to the nearby wolf
changeling pack, and works closely with Riley, an enforcer
for the wolves. They drive each other crazy, in a
flirtatious, adolescent way. One afternoon, they act on
their mutual attraction, confusing their relationship.
Mercy believes she is not the woman, or cat, for Riley and
Riley knows that Mercy is not the mate he wants, as she is
much too cat-like, definitely not a wolf. When a changeling scientist is kidnapped by the Human
Alliance, a fanatical, Riley and Mercy must put aside their
differences and find the kidnappers. Wow. The Psy-Changeling world is growing. I am intrigued
because the line between good and bad is undefined, or
becoming more difficult to draw. What sets this series
apart from many others is that there is a large, arching
story bridging each new book with its predecessor.
Therefore, at the beginning of this series the major plot
had to have been thought out to be able to carry the series
so well into its sixth installment. This is a very well
written series. Riley and Mercy are meant for each other, they just do not
realize it. The tension between them, their verbal
sparing, and their roller coaster relationship is amusing
but highly emotional. These two characters are executed
perfectly for this book. Other characters from previous (and future) books make many
appearances, hinting at what is to come from the series. I need more Nalini Singh. Pronto!
