"Another Sazi story, with Tony!"
Tony Giodone, now a Wolven Agent, is searching for a
missing Sazi, along with Will Kerchee, another agent and
raptor. Will is really conflicted since he's also in law
enforcement and would rather arrest Tony than work with
him. Since Tony can't remain in human shape during a full
moon without some magical assistance, it's impossible for
him to be alone on an assignment. Besides, Lucas feels
Tony's special talents might come in handy in retrieving
the missing Sazi. Which is why Tony now finds himself in a
South American jungle. After escaping from a trap set by
the snakes—a species of Sazi Tony is particularly not fond
of—both him and Will are shocked by Ahmad's—the king snake—
appearance. Of course, when they see the snakes not only
holding the missing Sazi, but Angelique—the head of the
raptors—as well, they know they have to do something to
rescue both women. With Ahmad's help, Will and Tony manage
to get the women to a cave, but something really strange
happens to Tony while he's there. All of a sudden, Tony is
in Ahmad's head and he sees what Ahmad does, feels what
Ahmad feels, hears everything around Ahmad. After the four
of them get away, Ahmad is approached by a woman from his
past—one he never thought he'd see again—a former lover
from his childhood—Tuli. Not only is Tuli there, but Nasil—
his father's right-hand man—is there as well. Now Ahmad
knows this has something to do with what his father had
planned and he claims right of succession. Back in the States, Sue—Tony's mate—is having some problems
of her own. For some reason, her entire body is shutting
down and the more magic the healers try to use to save her,
the worse she gets. However, Sue hasn't been sitting idly
by while Tony has been working. She knows of a ritual that
might help and manages to tell Tony about it. The ritual
helps Sue, only she changes somehow afterwards. Not only is Tony dealing with Wolven issues, but he's also
going back and forth between Ahmad's head and his own, plus
a new change needs to be taken in and sent to her
grandfather in England and that's not all. While Tony is in
the hospital with Sue and Lucas, he receives a visit from
his ex-bosses wives. Turns out someone tried to kill him
and he wants Tony to "make it right". Exactly what did Ahmad's father have planned? Will Tony and
Wolven be able to stop it? Will Tony be able to avenge his
ex-boss? And what is up with Sue? Exactly how did the
ritual affect her? COLD MOON RISING, A TALE OF THE SAZI is a fantastic
continuation of this series. Once again, C. T. Adams and
Cathy Clamp prove their talent with this fast-paced,
thrilling adventure. With every Sazi story, we learn a
little more about different characters and the plot. The
best part is we usually get to revisit some of those
characters we've already met. Have to say, Tony is my
favorite Sazi character and I was so happy to read another
story about him. I hope we get more Tony stories! Each of
these stories is filled with action, plots, subplots and
romance. This time we have Ahmad and Tuli and poor Tony
gets to go along for the ride. I cannot recommend this
series highly enough! Between the action and the romance,
there's something to please everyone. I even got my mom
hooked on the Sazi books.
