"Even vampires can be lonley!"
When you are all alone, sometimes being immortal is totally
over-rated. Arias Del Rio was a vampire, turned after the
conquest of the Aztec empire. After spending hundreds of
years alone, with no mate in sight, he performed a spell to
find his perfect mate; then went into the deep sleep until
she was born. Two hundred years later, he wakes, knowing
his mate is waiting for him. Malika Carter Young had been fascinated with famous
conquistador Arias Del Rio her entire life. A museum
curator, she was ecstatic when one of his descendents
donated his belongings to the museum. What she didn't know
was that she was about to meet Arias, and her life would
never be the same. Who knew that history could be so sexy! Arias puts a whole
new spin on the mental picture I had of the Spanish
explorers. I loved how Malika was an independent woman, and
very intelligent. It is always nice to see the heroine be
more than just decorative. The love scenes between Arias
and Malika were very intense, but still had lots of
emotion. All in all, this was a very hot and sexy read!
