Declan is a dragon shape shifter and he has had a massive
crush on Elysia for a long time. He has admired her for a
very long time and can't believe his luck when she shows up
at the Undertakers' Ball with one thing on her mind. She is
looking to relieve her pent up sexual frustration. He has
wanted her for so long and now that he has had a taste of
her, he may never let her go. Since her public and humiliating break-up with her fiancé,
Elysia has stayed out of the public's eye and only
committed herself to one night stands. Her brothers insist
that she represent her family at the Undertakers' Ball and
she gives in, figuring that she can find a one night stand
at the ball. When she chooses Declan, she knows she is in
trouble because he stirs her mating instinct. She has no
idea that her brothers are concocting a plan to get her
mated to Declan. This is the first book in the Tales of the Darkworld
series. After reading this one, I look forward to the next
books in the series. Lex Valentine has a powerful talent of
drawing her readers in right from the beginning.
Shifting Winds moves at a good pace, has likeable
characters and a simple plot. This book is loaded with
searing passion and just a little humor. Ms. Valentine
made good use of every word, surprising me with the amount
of character and plot development in such a short novel.
