For a number of years now, Megan Jones has been having
wild, erotic dreams with the same man whose picture she
found inside the locket of her Aunt Margaret, who lived
more than a hundred years ago. Determined to find the
answers to questions that troubled her, she travels to her
ancestral home in Wales. Owain Deverell seized the opportunity to meet with Megan in
person and struck a bargain with the Fairy Queen to be a
mortal for three days, in which he has the chance to gain
her love. If he failed, he would have to suffer the
consequences. A fantastic blend of fantasy and shifter with fairy-tale
elements, this story opens with Megan having the nightmare
of the dangerous stallion and pulls the reader right into
the story. Her chemistry with Owain was sizzling hot, and
we also see Megan's growth into a woman of courage as she
faced her fears for the man she loved. However, there was a small detail toward the end that
struck me as incongruous. Throughout the story, I had the
impression that until he bargained for mortality with the
Fairy Queen, Owain hasn't been mortal in the sense that he
couldn't interact with Megan in the real world. In that
case, how could he have access to modern technology and
hold a job in the real world? To say more would be a
spoiler, so I'll stop here. Overall though, I did enjoy the author's twist on this sexy
shifter story.
