Gabe MacPherson worked for the Alliance keeping peace in the vampire community. He is sent to Michigan to stop a group of vampires from trying to overpower the Alliance and find the leader of the group. He did not count on the fact that he was going to become the babysitter of a human woman that could drive someone crazy with her constant questions and sarcastic comments.

Christine Fitzpatrick planned to spend a quiet Thanksgiving with her adopted family. What was not in the plan was learning her family members are all vampires and that someone wants them all dead, including her. Nor was meeting a handsome stranger who was about to turn her world upside down.

As Gabe tries to protect Chris and her family from harm, he starts to notice that things are not what they seem, and that Chris is not all that she seems to be. As he discovers more pieces of the puzzle, he must also convince Chris that someone in her family is betraying them.

Dawn McClure has brought us a story of strong emotion. It is a story of love, betrayal, hurt and anger that you can almost feel throughout the pages. She keeps you guessing as to who the bad person really is, one minute you think you have it figured out then she throws a hint to it possibly being someone else. I truly enjoyed this story, I laughed and I cried.

Vampire mercenary Gabriel McPherson must protect small town girl Christine Fitzpatrick against the very thing she loves the most: her family.
