Shadows Of Fire by Nina Pierce
Alex is a well known vampire with a secret. She didn't ask to become a vampire, and though it saved her life, she wanted no part of it. Reese is a vampire who works as a firefighter. He's also part of an elite military group that destroys rogue vampires bent on destruction. As the body count rises, fingers are pointed toward Alex and Reese must decide if he loves her enough to believe in her.

'Shadows Of Fire' is a unique story because there is so much going on in a short time frame. Alex is troubled and her motives aren't always clear until the end. Reese knows what he wants but struggles to go after it until another man steps in his path. When he does make his move though, the two spontaneously combust. The heat between Alex and Reese is off the charts.

Nina Pierce is an author who excels at what she does. For a fast paced read, she pacts so much in the story that you'll think you read a full length novel. She stands a cut above the rest with the erotic scenes. If Shadows of Fire doesn't get your heart racing, nothing will.

A Walk on the Wild Side by Julia Devlin
Abby Simmons is a sexually repressed woman who just turned thirty. Luke Marlow is her neighbor that has an active sex life. With the help of a bottle of Tequila, Abby propositions Luke to fulfill her desires, but he sends her home to sleep on it. When she contacts him again, she sends a list of her ten sexual desires that she wants him to fulfill, and he agrees.

Abby reminds me of every woman I've ever met. She holds her desires in when they want to break free. She's relatable in that we see a bit of her in all of us. She just wants to feel alive and happy. Luke, with his raw sex appeal, represents a face for all of her desires. He doesn't even know it, but he's searching for the love that Abby has to give.

'A Walk on the Wild Side' by Julia Devlin is a delightful tale about desires that leads the reader on Abby and Luke's quest for love. It's a fast paced fun read that will make you wish you were Abby on more than one occasion. Ms. Devlin writes with enough heat to scorch the pages while still retaining to a strong romantic read. I look forward to reading more of Julia Devlin's work.
