"21st century meets 14th century - where will love take them?"
Against his better judgment, Conor McCloud makes a promise
to a dying friend: seek out the healer Magdah and find the
Peacekeeper... the woman said who could heal the land... a
woman from another time and place. Eilan Dougan is on leave while she copes with diagnosis of
a brain tumor. She is using the time to help sell her
parents' antique shop. Her ability to sense others'
feelings has set her apart, so she is comfortable with the
unusual -- but a 14th century Highlander suddenly appearing
in the store is quite a shock. Although she tries to
convince him to stay with her in the 21st century, she
agrees to return with him to Scotland. She has no idea how
to fulfill his hopes of saving his castle but has come to
trust Conor. Instead of Eilan saving Conor, Conor must
rescue Eilan from charges by his enemy of witchcraft. This time-travel has the fun of showing both the 21st
century through the eyes of a 14th century man and the 14th
century through the eyes of a 21st century woman. In a
somewhat predictable but enjoyable story, Ms. Binder brings
both adventure and love together in the Highlands. Cy Korte © Copyright August, 2001 for PNR Reviews
