"Do you believe in ghosts?"
Fi Carmichael was aggravated with her life. After two
unsuccessful seasons on the ton, her parents had decided
that she had to marry, and they didn't really care who.
Sequestered in a dilapidated manor house, she makes a
thrilling discovery-a real life ghost in the garden. When
her curiosity overcomes her fear, she discovers the sad
tale behind his existence, and the scary curse called down
on her family because of his death. Will Fi be able to
break the curse? Hugh MacFarlane had wandered the garden of Mirkheath Manor
for hundreds of years. Killed by his best friend over a
misunderstanding, he roamed his small domain terrifying
everyone he found, and waiting. When Fi wandered into his
home, he was intrigued. She wasn't afraid of him, and when
she arrived, he suddenly had a body again. When he
discovers that Fi is willing to help him, the two of them
embark on a journey of discovery that brings several
startling facts to life. Will Fi be able to break the curse holding Hugh to his
ghostly form? Will they be able to undo the curse on Fi's
family? With several adventures along the way, Fi will do
everything she can to save Hugh, and herself from being the
next victims of the curse. ONCE UPON A MOONLIT PATH is a sweet story. Fi's character
was my favorite type of heroine. She was not afraid to do
what was necessary to be happy, and she knew what she
wanted. She had spirit, and she was no wilting flower.
Hugh's character was the perfect foil for Fi. He was
attracted to her, but didn't want her to pine for him if
their attempt at his freedom didn't work. The love scenes
between Hugh and Fi were also very well done, keeping with
the overall tone of the story. All in all, this was
excellent!
