"An old fashioned fairy tale with modern day monsters."
Michael, wolf by night man by day, survived a vampire
slaughter of his tribe when he was young and is haunted by
what happened. Even though too young to help at the time,
he now hunts for vengeance. Fighting the irresistable urge
to mate, he grieves and rages against his enemy and his own
kind seeking the one vampire that killed his mother. Laina, a youngest of all vampires and daughter of royal
vampires, is drawn to sketch pictures of Wolfen creatures
even though she's been forbidden to do it. She hates that
her parents would destroy another magical tribe, so much
like their own. She once dreamt that the two tribes could
merge. Can the two of them find love and safety in each others'
arms? Or are they doomed? The Wolfen Lover reads like an old fashioned Grimms
Brothers fairy tale. Full of dark terrible things. But
there is also light and love, and let's not forget to
mention the steamy love scenes. Tessa Lane does a wonderful
job of creating a different kind of vampire and werewolf. I
found the short story refreshing and bold, like the fine
wine she mentions in her story.
