"A quick erotic read that left me panting for more."
As beta wolf, Thomas has to put on a calm and quiet front,
while his power surges under his skin. He has wanted Lottie
for a long time, but she just doesn't seem interested. He
doesn't understand why, because he is courting her very
gently, since she seems to not like the aggressive approach
from other men. Lottie knows that Thomas has been courting her, but he is
just a little too gentle. She wants a man, especially
Thomas, who is as full of passion for her as she is for
him. After some of the other brothel owners lodged a
complaint about her business to Thomas, he has come to
investigate her saloon. The interrogation quickly turns
into a passionate kiss and Lottie finally has the passion
from Thomas that she has always wanted. Ante Up is a quick read with steam rolling off most
of the pages. The chemistry and passion between Lottie and
Thomas is explosive, leaving me feeling just a little
singed. Although a short story, there was just enough
character development to give me a sense of who these two
are. Both Lottie and Thomas are very fun and likeable
characters. Lottie doesn't need a gentle man, but one who will just
take her and make her feel the passion. She has wanted that
from Thomas, but he just hasn't come through. She is a
strong, independent woman who is full of passion and needs
the same from her man. Thomas is so used to keeping his
power locked away from the world, because of his position
as beta. When he realizes that Lottie wants his power, he
is exhilarated to be able to let loose, but scared that he
may hurt her. However, Lottie shows him very quickly that
she is woman enough to take it, and their passion ignites.

Thomas Crawford is Lonely River's beta, and it's high time he settled down. He's had his eye on Charlotte Daniel, the owner of the Full Moon Saloon -- and independent cuss of a woman -- for months, but she either hasn't noticed his gentle courting... or she's ignoring him. But when some local wolves lodge a complaint about her questionable business practices it's Thomas's job to investigate, even if it means the woman he wants will hate him forever. Lottie has noticed Thomas's courting, all right, but it's a little too polite for her tastes. She wants a man with fire and sensuality, not daisies and poetry. Then he kisses her. Once she gets a glimpse of the passion burning in him, Lottie decides a slow, careful seduction isn't a bad idea at all. But she'll do it her way. Genre(s): Futuristic, Paranormal
