Private Investigator Nikki James grew up on the streets and
believes there's nothing left to surprise her. Her Psi-
powers have been a help and the curse of her life. While on
a case following teen runaway Monica, she becomes a pawn
caught in a war between two very different men... or should I
say vampires. Suddenly she is finding that her only hope is
her powers and determination -- and aid from someone she is
not sure she should trust, but easily could love. Michael Kelly has come to Lyndhurst determined to end the
war between himself and Jasper. He plans to use Nikki as
bait, but eventually comes to respect her and her powers,
but his control over his bloodlust is tenuous. He cannot
afford to fall in love with her. Romantic vampire fans MUST read this tale. DANCING WITH
THE DEVIL is in a contemporary setting with traditional
vampire lore accepted which made for a very comfortable
read. The lines of good and evil are clear and the violence
as the two adversaries battle is graphically shown but
would not offend most romance readers. It left hope of
varied experiences in the sequels to this story, as does
the ending that opens a world of speculation for the future
relationship of the Nikki and Michael. There seems to be a varied group of enforcers from the
paranormal realm as shown by Michael's brief conversation
with the witch Seline. Personally, I am glad I was able to
have the next book available to read immediately as I was
