between them be allowed to grow into something more? Garrett Firestorm was an Immortal from the Realm of Magick.
Dedicated to righting the wrongs in the galaxy, he traveled
from place to place wherever he was needed. Searching for
his ship's doctor, he stopped on Alora's planet. When he
saw her, he knew he had to save her, and in the process,
found his lifemate. When a fallen immortal threatens his
new love, he would do anything to save her, including
sacrificing himself. Will Alora and her new friends be able
to save Garrett before it is too late? An amazing setting, an interesting cast of secondary
characters and a truly scary villain make DARK PHOENIX an
excellent story. Ms. Mathews has done a phenomenal job
creating her universe, making a very entertaining and
absorbing read. The attraction between Alora and Garrett
was almost volcanic, but she was strong enough to stay true
to herself instead of just letting him walk all over her.
Garrett was a truly fascinating character, because he had
so much goodness and compassion in him, but he was still
capable of the more human emotions. The other characters,
especially Ace and Matilda helped to make the story so much
more interesting. All in all, DARK PHOENIX was a very good
read!
