"A touching and heartfelt tale"
Oil heiress Marissa Vasquez is kidnapped by a deranged man
intent on the vilest acts. He forces her cooperation by
showing her his hostage; her brother that she'd thought was
dead for a long time. Navarre is also kidnapped but the
three of them, Marissa, her brother, and Navarre escape the
madman along with a priest with a hidden agenda. In a race
for their freedom, and their lives, Navarre and Marissa
fall head over heels in love. Marissa embodies strength and vulnerability, her life has
been anything but easy, yet she perseveres and manages to
keep her spirits up when all hope seems lost. She cares for
those around her even when it would have been easier to let
them make their mistakes. Navarre's first experiences with
mortal life touched upon all the things we take for
granted. His uncanny knack to be at the right place at the
right time to save Marissa showed how in tuned he was with
her. Jennifer St. Giles has done it again with this installment
of her Shadowmen series. She manages to create characters
that are so real, if they don't get their own book I'll be
disappointed! Her characters are tortured by deeds of their
past, but they overcome them so well that you can't help
but fall in love with them, and cheer when they in turn
fall in love. Marissa deserves every ounce of happiness
that can come her way, and Navarre is just the man to give
it to her. The romance is touching and it will leave any
reader with a smile on their face. If you haven't read a
Shadowman novel, you are missing out on a fantastic series.
